Classification of Jumbo bags

FIBCs are broadly categorized into four broad types as follows:

Type A: These are plain and offer no static protection

Type B: These bags protect from low voltage.

Type C: These bags have interconnecting panels and reduce risks against explosive atmospheres or materials

Type D: These bags do not require grounding

At the time of filling and discharging of materials by using FIBC,  during the movement of the Material contents to have a buildup of static electricity. Stopping this electrical charge from increasing is crucial when you are dealing with flammable and combustible materials. But some  Other materials may not have issues with flammability.

Type A FIBCs provide no static protection. Made of woven polypropylene (woven pp), static electricity is generated as materials rub against the inside surface of the bag as they are filled and emptied. Since there is no static protection provided by Type A bags, it is essential that they are not used to store or transport Consumable materials or used in Flammable or Combustible environments.

Primary Use of A Type FIBC Bags

  • Non-hazardous materials
  • Locations with non-hazardous conditions

Do Not use For

  • When transporting flammable or hazerdous materials
  • When flammable materials or gases are present in your location
  • When a flammable atmosphere with minimum ignition energy less than 1,000mJ is present

Similar to that of Type A bulk bags, Type B bulk bags do not have any mechanism for dissipating static electricity. The only difference is that Type B bulk bags are made from materials that have a low breakdown voltage to prevent the occurrence of highly energetic, and dangerous propagating brush discharges (PBD). Although Type B FIBCs can prevent PBD, they cannot be considered antistatic FIBC because they do not dissipate electrostatic charge. Normal brush discharges can still occur, which can ignite flammable solvent vapors.

Primary Uses of Type B FIBCs:

  • Transporting dry, flammable powders
  • Where no flammable solvents or gases are present.
  • Environments with dust with ignition energies less than 3mJ.

Do NOT use for:

  • When transporting flammable or hazerdous materials.

Are also known as conductive or groundable FIBC. Originally they were made from entirely conductive materials. Groundable Type C FIBCs are more commonly made from non-conductive polypropylene interwoven with conducting yarns, normally in a grid pattern. The interconnection of conductive yarns and the connection to ground or earth are critical to the safe use of Type C FIBC. As with any manual operation, ensuring interconnection and grounding of Type C FIBC is subject to human error.

Primary Uses for Type C conductive FIBCs:

  • Transporting flammable powders.
  • When flammable vapors, gases, or combustible dusts are present.

Do NOT use for:

  • When ground connection is not present or has become damaged.
  • Resistance from any location FIBC to ground-able point.
  • When a flammable atmosphere with minimum ignition energy less than 1,000mJ is present.

Anti static bulk bags are made from static protective fabric designed to safely prevent the occurrence of incendiary sparks, brush discharges and propagating brush discharges, without the need for a connection from the bulk bag to ground or earth. Using CROHMIQ fabric to construct anti-static bulk bags eliminates the inherent risk of grounding failure that is always present whenever conductive Type C FIBCs (grounded FIBCs) are used

Primary Uses for Type D antistatic FIBCs:

  • Transporting flammable powders
  • When flammable vapors, gases, or combustible dusts are present.

Do NOT use blue Crohmiq bulk bags for:

  • When surface of FIBC is contaminated or coated with conductive material such as grease or other flammable and/or combustible materials.

Types of FIBC Manufactured

Highly efficient and perfectly safe FIBC bags, in conformity with Standards Specification includes

  • UN FIBCs

UN Bags are designed to carry hazardous products and their use is regulated by the UN Association, commonly known as the Orange Book. There are four types of FIBCs for dangerous goods made from woven plastics: 13 H 1 – Woven plastics without coating and without liner. 13 H 2 – Woven plastics, coated and without liner.

UN bags can be divided into four major types, which we can supply to you: 13H1 uncoated fabric and without inliner. 13H2 coated fabric and without inliner. 13H3 uncoated fabric and with inliner.

UN approved packaging is a destination for packaging that has been built, tested, and certified to carry liquid or solid dangerous materials. This is a unified means to ensure dangerous materials are transported safely

  • Liner Bags and Sulzer Looms Fabric

Manufacturing Process

(a)How are FIBC Bags Manufactured ?

The following are the salient points of manufacturing process.

  • Sourcing the Best Raw Materials: Manufacturing FIBC bags require polypropylene granules and low density     The Extrusion Process: The virgin and recycled polypropylene granule mix is melted in an extrusion plant, it is then transformed into tapes, following which it is wound on bobbins of various sizes.
  • Weaving and Ultrasonic Cutting: The extruded tape bobbins are then either put in a flat or circular weaving machine. This helps to weave the tapes to fabric depending upon various
  • Cutting and Printing: The fabric rolls are then put into the automatic cutting machine so that they can be cut into various sizes which are subsequently fed into a heavy duty printing
  • Needle Loom-Custom based Webbing: The bulkier polypropylene tapes are taken for webbing to form the lifting
  • Sewing: All the parts of the FIBC bag are sewed together by expert professionals under the supervision of technically qualified
  • Ultra Violet and Stress Testing: All the products are UV tested. They are then put under various conditions to ensure various
  • The Inspection Process: All of the manufactured bags are inspected and checked by trained professionals as per the specifications of Indian Standard Specification and annexure VI is enclosed as a reference
  • Metal Detection Inspection and Vacuum Cleaning: All contaminants inside the bag are done away with to ensure
  • Gluing and Packaging: These procedures ensure that the products are well sealed and neatly packed.
  • Warehousing and Shipping: Ensures the FIBC bags are stored and shipped in a safe
